Ms. Cheyenne: Nice Blog Missie!
Krishna: Hi, blog hoping! Wish you season's greetings!
MomL: You really need to start making a scrapbook with all his antics and sayings along with a picture of him at that age. He is just a brilliant little boy. He said his dentist appt went ok, but now he has a gray tooth.
MomL: That boy can come up with some good ones. And he doesn't even know it. I'm laughing my head off at this one, though.
EKNarayan.com: Isn't it great to have a place to come to express life with children?
Cindy: Hi Shailynn! Great story and drawings. I hope you win the contest. But even if you don't, you have great memories written down to look back on and treasure. Keep on writing more!
Larissa: Shailynn, I really like your story. I hope you write more stories about you and Baby. P.S. My kitten's name is Baby too!

MomL: Ok, I just went to the Disney website to look at the characters. I saw Jack Sparrow and that settled it.Except, if he is not available, Cinderella would be next in line. Actually, I like her quite a lot. I had a Cinderella coloring book when I was a little girl. I loved it. Love you all. Nana
baitlady: Hi there.. just popped in to catch up on your post.
birdbits: just wanted to say hi, hope all is going well, and I am so glad your baby is ok! Sometimes it amazes me, how strong our kids are... smile
MomL: The main thing I remember about the concert was trying to find something to keep me occupied while until it was over. I couldn't go anywhere because I had to stay where you all could find me afterwards. It was fun, though. I can't believe you were so touched by that.
MomL: Hey, why can't you enclose the space under your deck for the hot tub? It should be just about the right size.
Merydith: Do you mind exchanging links?
Merydith: Hi Missie just stopping by to say hi . I hope you feel better now.
MomL: Guess what? I heard you scream in my sleep. I should have called, but I didn't. I knew something was wrong. I'm sorry you hurt physically, but more so, emotionally. I love you and I'm sorry I didn't call.
MomL: Well, it's about time. I've almost worn out my keyboard trying to get an update on here. Love you. I'll go update mine now. :)

Joanne Troppello: Hi. Just blog hopping. I like your site. God bless.
MomL: How funny! We are anxious to see you. I can't wait to see my parents with your kids. Daddy has really missed them.Enjoy the moments. They quickly, either with time or poor memory.
MomL: Missie, the only thing that will make this better is the peace that comes from Jesus Christ. He, and only he, can give you the kind of peace you need, so just keep asking him for it and we'll keep praying for all of you to have His peace. I know it doesn't sound that simple, and I have to take this medicine myself, quite often, but it will happen. He promises it. I love you. Just keep living and loving. See you next week!
MomL: Sleepovers. Ugh! I didn't like staying at other's people's houses because I was one of those little girls who got touched and was afraid to tell. I'm sorry, but I don't encourage sleepovers, unless they are at my house. There were so many times that my friends(with the yucky dad) begged me to stay because they stayed with me last. I wanted so badly for my mama or daddy to be able to read my mind to know how badly I didn't want to go. If I had to raise my children again, I would have a secret sig
MomL: Missie, we miss you all so much. Being apart just gets tougher & tougher, but I know God will intervene and make it all okay. You must just trust him and stay intune with him as much as you can so you can rejoice where you are now and rejoice in where you go next. Remember my testimony where it seemed impossible that we'd ever be close to our family again, and God came in and made a mighty move in our lives, both spiritually and in our locale so we could be close to family. He'll do it. Just ma
MomL: Missie, we had a wonderful week. Just wish it didn't have to end so quickly. I love you.Mom
MomL: Missie, I remember that horrible monster! I remember how hard we laughed at him, too. Do you remember the time we tape recorded your dad snoring and he still wouldn't believe us? I'm glad you finally got to open your doors to let some fresh air in. I think you guys just keep breathing each other's contaminated germ air and getting sicker. Maybe you'll be able to send some outdoors now.
MomL: I am sooooooooooooooo jealous! Oh, well, I have talked to Dad about getting that RV when he retires so we can go to all the games while we're spending 3 months out of each year with one of our 4 children, while living in our RV. Doesn't that sound like the greatest plan ever? Ok, not for you four kids, but for us, it will be the bomb. Ok, not for Dad either, but for me it'll be the bomb. Think I should start learning how to drive an RV? I may be by myself. Oh, well, I will have fun all by my
Aunt T: I am so glad that you and Shai will have a girls night out. I'm sure it will be exciting. We will thinking of you while we are watching the game. Have fun sweetie.

One Crazy weekend

  • Mood:
Oh my goodness, what a weekend.  The kids and I left Thursday, with Mom and Dad.  We headed south to Clif's home in Hamilton.  We packed (they are moving), we played (cards and video games) and we visited (into the wee hours of the morning.) We got home yesterday evening.  My dad works a lot, so even when I go to their home for a visit, I don't get to spend as much time with him as I'd like.  So it was nice being able to visit with my parents for the many hours in the car...down there and back.

I was exhausted....but it was worth it.  It was so nice to see my brother and his wife.  I enjoyed trailing after Clif as he finished out his time as Vicor.   I packed up his office as he finished up his last Sunday School lesson.   I went with him (WAY TOO EARLY) as he recorded his sermon for the radio and set up his Sunday School stuff on Sunday morning before church.

I actually put my makeup on in the sanctuary of the church while he was getting ready for church.   After he recorded his sermon, we dropped it off at the radio station and I headed back home to get dressed for church and to get the kids and Lora up.  I dropped by the little apt that Mama and Daddy were staying in, but Daddy was in the shower and Mom was still asleep, so they didn't hear me knock.  Eventually everyone was ready and we headed to Sunday School and the second service of the day.

Shai and Matt were so excited to see their Bubba walk up the aisle in his "pastor garb".  Clif told me what it was called, but I cannot remember.  Sorry.   Of course he can't wear the stoles yet, as he hasn't officially graduated and become a pastor for another year.  But the church DID set up a money tree and they raised a LOT of money specifically for his stoles. But regardless of all of that, he looked pretty impressive.

He, of course, did an amazing job.   I  can't help but be impressed by him.  Growing up with him, knowing all that he's been through, having seen his journey as a child, a teen and a young man, I am in awe of the man he has become.  He isn't perfect, only ONE man was perfect.  But Clif has such a humble, gentle, caring heart that blends so well with his creative, humorous, knowledgeable mind.  I can't tell you how many people came up to me and told me what a blessing he and his beautiful wife Lora are going to be to whichever church they are sent to in May.  I was told what  a wonderful, caring "pastor's wife" my sister in law was going to be.  I am proud of her as well.

With all they've been through lately, I am very excited to see that they are "holding on".  Things continue to come up and stessors continue to pile on, but they are doing well.  We tried to help them as much as possible, while we were there.  I wish we could have done more.  I seriously considered postponing my surgery to help them get through this time.  Clif wouldn't let me.  My sweet husband though, is going to go help him.  Jade had taken off to be with me after my surgery.  He had planned to take care of me.  Instead, Mom is once again stepping in (and stepping up) to stay with me and my children after the surgery, so that Jade can ride with Clif and Lora to St Louis and help them unload their stuff.  Clif couldn't figure out how he was going to get that done.  They have a few big ("big" is a gross understatement)  pieces of furniture that are going to have to be moved down a couple flights of stairs.  Clif knew he couldn't do this alone and his original plans for help had fallen through.  I talked to Jade, and when Jade offered to help Clif (if Clif could postpone leaving for a day, and promise to have him home for work on Monday) I could just SEE the weight lift off of his shoulders.

So this is what our schedule looks like.  I have to have Jade completely packed by tomorrow (Wednesday)  night.  Mom will come down tomorrow night.  Surgery is Thursday morning.  Jade will leave with Clif on Friday, Mom will spend the weekend with us.  Jade and Clif and them will be back in OK on Sunday.  Jade will leave Monday morning for training out of town.  He will be home on Thursday.

As soon as I am healed up from surgery...shouldn't take long...I'm going to organize a big birthday bash for all of the guys.  Wil's birthday was in June, Chris' is this month, and Jade and Clif have birthdays in August.  I'm thinking we'll grill, play in the pool and just relax.  Throw horse shoes, eat, joke, swim, play and just enjoy time together.  They all deserve a day to honor them.  We are short on time, so they'll have to share the day....but I think they might actually enoy that more.  They are all kind of "tight".  lol

I love the men in my life.
